What an interesting week!! The web-site has been really busy, as have I. Because I am busy during the working day, my evenings are getting more and more congested, and need more and more planning. I have always followed my golden rule that I will not work after 9pm, but I find myself sitting at my desk late into the evening. What a good job there is nothing much on the television.
Last night scores of Manchester United fans sat and watched in despair as their team lost the Champions League Final in London to an amazing team from Spain, Barcelona! Both teams trained, both teams practised, and both teams were highly successful in their domestic leagues. So what made the difference? For my money it was the work ethic and discipline of the Spanish champions, who always had someone to give the ball to, and someone running into the space. Manchester United, when they got the ball had no-one to give it to, more often than not. They never got close enough to one another to provide the options that Barcelona had.
Why am I talking about Football this week, well, the relevance to training is that you can train as much as you like, if the other guy has a better team ethic, and higher work rate, you need to look at your team and your leadership, and train and motivate your team to perform. Now there’s an interesting challenge for you
