Today I have been getting myself ready to deliver a course in Burton on Trent. I piloted this course for the first time in London in January and felt it needed a couple more things to be added before I took it live to clients. So today I loaded onto the PowerPoint some additional material.  I put on some really good photos I have taken myself showing a security guard in a number of situations.  These will get a good discussion going I think too, which is good for the programme.

There were only two real downsides to this, the first was that today Prince William married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London and the other downside is that the company I am training for has only got two delegates on the course, so discussion will be a bit thin on the ground.

Why is the Royal Wedding such a downer. It should not be, as a retired police officer having served Her Majesty the Queen for 32 years I am a very patriotic Royalist. No it has nothing to do with that. It is because the only decent wall in the house I can try out my new projector on is in the living room where the television is.  So once the happy couple and their entourage had gone inside Buckingham Palace I put the lap-top and my nice new projector on the dining table and began projecting slide onto the wall, much to my wife’s disgust.  Quite right to.  The only thing in my defence is that I needed to be sure everything worked properly and to give myself time to put anything right that was not.

But it all was fine, and the two delegates I have in Burton on Trent will be in for a very good course, which I am confident they will enjoy.  Let’s hope so.

And by the way...I would like to wish the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a long and happy life together.  Good luck sir, good luck ma’am.  God Save the Queen!
